The Opportunity: This is a rare opportunity for someone with a demonstrable interest in Law to develop their legal career, within our in-house legal team. We are looking for a self-motivated Paralegal to help us ensure the smooth running of our team. This is a varied role, so you could be involved in anything from reviewing a range of contracts, helping on the company secretarial side, assisting on share options or presenting back on legal updates and changes in practice. This is a fantastic role for someone looking to learn too, as you'll have plenty of scope for both personal and professional development from both our General Counsel and Senior Legal Counsel.
Your Focus:
- Collating, indexing, storing and updating contracts so that they are accessible in one place by:
- Filing documents in the central Legal filing system
- Working with Procurement on storing documents in Procurement's contract management system
- Ensuring contracts are correctly authorised and signed
- Reviewing and marking up contracts
- Drafting emails to colleagues, suppliers and customers
- Managing contract expiries e.g., NDAs
- Helping teams to note key deadlines e.g., upcoming filing deadlines such as Confirmation Statements Companies House filings
- Conducting legal research e.g., Companies Act
- Keeping us up to speed with legal developments e.g., new legislation relevant to the business

What's Important: You'll have an interest in Commercial Law - this may be displayed through qualifications but if you can demonstrate your interest in another way, we'd still love to hear from you. You'll have some knowledge of how contracts work - and want to learn more about them. Previous commercial work experience (in any sector) would be highly beneficial - Ideally, you'll be used to working in a commercial environment like ours. You'll be comfortable using Office 365 (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel), relevant AI tools, and it would be handy if you've used Slack before too.
