Many Studios is a place for creative practice. Our building at Ross Street provides 42 workspaces for a creative community of 70+ people, from visual artists, makers and designers to writers, programmers and engineers. We host a venue for hire, and produce local and international community‑led projects. Many Studios is a women and LGBT+ led, independent arts organisation and Community Interest Company, founded in 2012. Our ambition has always been to provide long‑term, quality workspaces, programmes and venues that enable artworkers and organisations to develop practice in new and exciting ways.
The role of General Manager is hands‑on and requires practical and organised working. The General Manager is the point of contact for our community members, partners and collaborators, nurturing a harmonious and well‑serviced building, while ensuring we maintain capacity in workspace membership and external hires, whilst playing an active role in the wider arts ecosystem in Glasgow and nationally. The General Manager will have a view across all aspects of the organisation. Their role is key to ensuring the overall smooth running of the organisation, whilst working with Directors to grow and shift the organisation in exciting ways in the future.
Contract: 4 days / 28 hrs a week, permanent. Working days: Normal working hours are Monday to Thursday 9am - 5pm (including one‑hour, unpaid break), weekly pattern can be changed. The role includes event supervision so evening and weekend work is required, operating TOIL.
Who we're looking for:

- Excellent communication skills and experience in stakeholder engagement, including maintaining collaborative relationships with clients and partners.
- Familiarity with event planning and execution, ideally within creative or cultural sectors.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide a diverse community of creative professionals.
- Experience in the arts, culture, or creative industries, with a clear understanding of their operational challenges and opportunities.
- Proficiency in digital tools and technology to support efficient workflow and communication.
