As a Social Worker within our Initial Response Team, you'll be the first point of contact for those needing support. You'll assess needs, analyse risk, respond to concerns, work jointly with police and partner agencies, and guide families through challenging situations with clarity and compassion.

Main duties of the job: This role gives you the chance to use your professional judgement, communication skills and empathy in a setting where they make a real difference. You'll develop your practice, build confidence in fast paced decision making and play a key part in safeguarding children at the earliest stage. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
