Thank you for your interest in our Principal Clinical Psychologist positions! We are looking for two warm, enthusiastic, and professional Clinical or Counselling Psychologists to join our team and help support the psychological care provided by our Community Mental Health Service for Adults.

  • Principal Clinical Psychologist, Community Mental Health Service for Adults, Band 8b, Salary scale (£77,703 to £95,492 per annum)
  • Principal Clinical Psychologist, Community Mental Health Service for Adults, Band 8a, Salary scale (£67,048 to £79,978 per annum)

Main duties of the job

As a member of a multidisciplinary team, you will carry out complex psychological assessments in partnership with service users, with a wide range of presenting issues, selecting and administering specialist psychometric assessments, self‑report measures, structured observations and clinical interviews as appropriate and interpret and integrate this complex data into intervention/care plans.

You will formulate evidence‑based psychological treatment plans that are specific to each client, drawing on appropriate conceptual and theoretical models, monitoring outcome and modifying and adapting interventions as required.

You’ll be part of a welcoming, multidisciplinary team that includes psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social workers, psychologists, occupational therapists, CBT, DBT and EMDR therapists, and support workers. Housing Assistance is also available where the Department will pay the difference between your current mortgage/rent bill, and that of your new accommodation on the Isle of Man, up to a maximum of £250 per month. This role also qualifies for a recruitment incentive of £3,000, payable in the 1st, 13th, and 25th months of employment.

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a Practitioner Psychologist/Clinical Psychologist/Counselling Psychologist
