We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Programme Manager to oversee projects across our Defence Nuclear sector. The position is an 18-month fixed term contract.
You’ll be responsible for leading and managing the successful delivery of a number of large and/or complex projects/programmes working across various MTC technology themes and industry sectors.
You be responsible for
Ensuring customer and all stakeholder needs are clearly captured, understood, and effectively built into project bids.
Full programme/portfolio accountability achieving Late Day targets, On Time Delivery and Cost to Complete performance.
Liaising with resource owners / team leaders to ensure effective use of resources in delivering project quality, cost & delivery within project scope.
Managing any changes to project scope via the recognised \”Change Request\” process.
You’ll also act as champion for MTC\’s project management processes, tools & techniques and contribute to internal continuous improvement activities relates to PM tools and processes.
Who are we looking for?
We’re looking for a results driven, strong leader with significant experience in a busy projects based/professional services environment.
You’ll be a self-starter with a positive CAN-DO approach focusing on solutions rather than problems.
You’ll have experience of Microsoft project management tools including MS Project and Excel and be able to articulate and communicate effectively at all levels of the business, from junior staff to CEO.
We’re also looking for somebody
Numerate with a strong focus on financial management.
With the ability to identify resource requirements and negotiate availability with resource owners / team leaders.
Used to working with classified information.
Desirable skills and experience include
Experience and a working understanding of delivering projects through others in an engineering/professional services environment.
An organised yet flexible approach with the ability to influence/deliver through others.
A natural investigatory nature with strong analytical skills.
Demonstrable knowledge of PMP and PMO.
Embraces personal and professional development.
Qualified to degree level in technical and / or business-related disciplines and a background in engineering or professional related disciplines.
