We’re looking for a Construction Project Manager to join the Civil Infrastructure Team. This role will suit a practical, logical thinker with a strong understanding of construction, buildings, and development projects. You’ll play a pivotal part in assisting and supporting the delivery of various building and fit out projects for MTC and external clients. Reporting to the Civil Infrastructure Programme Manager, you’ll work as part of a small, dedicated team to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You’ll act as the key liaison between MTC, clients, design teams, and accreditation authorities, ensuring stakeholder requirements are fully integrated into new and existing infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Managing infrastructure development schemes for internal and external clients across a broad range of sectors.
- Building strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, planning authorities, and internal teams.
- Coordinating and monitoring the appointment of architects, engineers, surveyors, and other professionals in line with MTC policy.
- Ensuring compliance with statutory, professional, and MTC standards throughout project delivery.
- Managing contractors and consultants, including specialist subcontractors, ensuring projects are delivered on time.
- Driving continuous improvement within the Estates and Security Team.
Who are we looking for?
This role will suit either a Project Manager, Chartered Surveyor or Engineer from a construction background, who understands the design process for buildings, services, and fit out. We’re looking for:
- Degree-qualified or equivalent, ideally from a relevant professional body (e.g. RIBA, Institute of Mechanical/Electrical Engineers, etc.).
- Experience of working within industrial environments.
- Ability to carry out site inspection on the quality of installation works (site inspections).
- Organised and have excellent attention to detail.
- Experience of developing CAD drawings (Revit & AutoCAD) or be willing to learn.
- Experience in developing project bids and proposal writing.
- Effective communication skills will be required to engage a range of stakeholders both internally and externally. This includes developed interpersonal, negotiation, influencing and conflict management skills.
- Proven team player with ability to motivate others.
Desirable Knowledge & Experience:
- Familiarity with RIBA Planning Stages, JCT Contracts, NEC Contracts.
- Experience in developing customer requirements.
- Broad experience in construction and building services.
