The Enterprise Applications Team is seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our growing team in Coventry. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing and enhancing our business intelligence capabilities within a modern Microsoft Azure environment.

As a Data Engineer, you will support the ongoing development of our BI Hub and data infrastructure, enabling data-driven decision-making across the organisation. You’ll collaborate with Application Owners and stakeholders to design, build, and maintain robust data models and pipelines that power high-quality Power BI reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the development and continuous improvement of the BI Hub and enterprise data infrastructure
  • Contribute to requirements gathering, problem solving, data modelling, design, testing, and end‑user support
  • Design, build, and maintain data models
  • Design, build, and maintain data pipelines
  • Design, build, and maintain data integration and processing solutions
  • Enable Application Owners to create impactful Power BI reports
  • Work across the Microsoft Azure cloud platform to deliver scalable solutions
  • Provide clear user guidance and ensure a positive support experience
  • Maintain high‑quality documentation and support knowledge sharing within the team

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience across Microsoft BI tools and technologies, including: Microsoft Fabric, Data Lakes (BYDL 2.0), Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, DevOps (data pipelines), Microsoft Purview, CDM Utility, Event Grid, Serverless and Dedicated SQL Pools, Power BI (admin, apps, pipelines)
  • Excellent communication skills, able to engage with stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience creating and managing high‑quality functional documentation
  • Business analysis capability with a focus on knowledge retention
  • Ability to work with third‑party providers and implement technical changes

Desirable

  • Knowledge of Dynamics 365 (Finance, Project Operations, Sales, Customer Insights)
  • ITIL Foundation qualification
