Shift: Early or Day Shift
Purpose of Role:
CNC Turners to work on fixed-head, Fanuc-controlled machines. Looking for experienced setters and operators rather than programmers. To set and operate CNC Doosan and Nakamura lathes with Fanuc controls, producing precision-engineered components safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate CNC turning machines
- Load tooling, set offsets, and prepare machines for production
- Read and interpret engineering drawings
- Carry out first-off and in-process inspections
- Use micrometres, verniers, bore gauges, and other measuring equipment
- Maintain machine performance and minimise downtime
- Support continuous improvement and TPM activities
- Work to production schedules and quality requirements
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and safety
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Proven CNC turning experience
- Fanuc control experience
- Ability to set and operate CNC lathes independently
- Strong drawing interpretation skills
- Good inspection and measurement experience
- Positive attitude and strong attention to detail
Desirable:
- Aerospace or precision engineering experience
- Multi-axis CNC turning experience
- Experience with Nakamura, Doosan, Puma, or similar machines
- Knowledge of GD&T
