Main Job Purpose
To provide care and support within an inpatient detoxification unit to service users addressing issues associated with problematic substance misuse.

Main Job Duties And Responsibilities

  • To engage with the service users on a one to one and group basis, providing practical and personal care, supporting the multi-disciplinary team comprising of Doctors, Nurses and Support staff, dealing with a wide range of physical and emotional needs.
  • Delivery of therapeutic interventions such as recovery groups.
  • To assist in the administration of medication by countersigning controlled drugs with a nurse.
  • To undertake daily record keeping in line with the needs of the service and service user group.
  • Contribute to the review of procedures, guidance and team practice in team meetings/development days etc.
