Russell House is a 24-hour Homeless Hostel providing safe and supportive accommodation for individuals experiencing homelessness. The service has 15 units of core accommodation for up to 15 individuals with complex needs, and 30 units of dispersed housing in the community. We offer tailored support to help people move towards independent living.

As a night support worker, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety, security and well-being of the residents during night hours. You will provide practical support and understand the issues faced by people affected by homelessness, including housing support; substance use, mental health and using a trauma‑informed care approach. You will manage any incidents that arise and respond appropriately to emergencies or safeguarding concerns while maintaining a respectful environment. As a night worker you will conduct regular welfare checks and monitor access to the building. You will complete accurate records and work collaboratively with other team members. You will maintain cleanliness and complete cleaning tasks in the communal areas during the shift.

It is key that you have experience of working with vulnerable individuals. This role is ideal for someone compassionate, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
