Are you highly organised, detail-oriented and interested in supporting the development of innovative new products? We're looking for a Technical Administrator – Innovation & R&D to join a growing manufacturing business investing heavily in innovation, technology and future growth. Working as part of the Innovation team, you'll play a vital role in supporting exciting product development projects, ensuring laboratory trials, testing and technical documentation run smoothly.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in a manufacturing, laboratory, quality or R&D environment who enjoys combining administration with technical support.

What You'll Be Doing

  • You'll provide administrative and analytical support to the Innovation team (six persons), helping ensure product development projects are delivered efficiently.
  • Your responsibilities will include:
    • Maintaining technical documentation, project records and sample libraries.
    • Coordinating laboratory, pilot and production trials.
    • Preparing documentation and materials ahead of product trials.
    • Recording sample and trial data accurately.
    • Supporting laboratory testing and analysing trial results.
    • Ordering materials for development projects.
    • Sending samples to customers and development partners.
    • Coordinating meetings and recording meeting minutes.
    • Maintaining Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and COSHH documentation to support Health & Safety compliance.

What We're Looking For

  • You'll ideally have:
    • Experience within a manufacturing, laboratory, Quality or R&D environment.
    • Previous administrative experience supporting technical or engineering teams.
    • Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Confidence working with technical documentation and data.
    • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
    • A proactive approach and willingness to support a busy innovation team.

Experience of laboratory testing, sample management or technical administration would be advantageous but isn't essential. Client would also look at a science, maths, textile graduate.
