This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-known manufacturer on the Somerset / Dorset Border in a Technical Manager's Role. The company is proud of their heritage and over the last 50 years has grown considerably.

Reporting to the Site Manager, as Technical Manager you will be a key member of the Site Management Team and your main areas of responsibility will be Food Safety & Quality, including all QA/QC functions on the site.

Technical Manager Duties will include:

  • Monitoring & reviewing the Health & Safety performance of the site
  • Ensuring the correct compliance with policies, procedures and legislation to meet Food Safety, Quality and Environmental requirements
  • Managing a team of five plus Technical Assistants reporting into the Team Managers on site
  • Actively seeking to improve the company's profitability & control by the efficient control of raw materials, product and energy waste

Technical Manager Essential Knowledge / Skills:

  • Relevant Technical Management experience within the food industry
  • Extensive practical experience of BRC accreditation, HACCP implementation, facilitation of customer audits and quality system management
  • Degree qualification in food science or equivalent
  • Excellent people management & communication skills
