We’re looking for an ambitiousNPD Project Managerto join a growing premium food business and take ownership of excitingown-brand product developmentfrom first idea through to launch.
This is a role withreal ownership, variety and influence. You’ll manage multiple NPD projects, work across bakery, dairy, butchery, prepared foods and ambient, lead a Junior Product Developer and partner with suppliers and commercial teams to get outstanding products onto the shelves.
Your Mission
You’ll be responsible for making sure every product isright, ready and commercially viable.
- Own thefull NPD journeyfrom concept to launch
- Drive multiple projects, critical paths, timelines and budgets
- Develop commercially viable products with the rightcost, format and margin
- Lead and develop aJunior Product Developer
- Drive packaging, artwork and supplier development
- Build strong supplier relationships and negotiate where required
- Spotfood trends, competitor moves and new opportunities
- Partner withTechnical, Buying, Marketing, Retail and Merchandising
- Ensure every product meetsfood safety, allergen and labelling legislation
- Keep projects on track, manage risks and deliver successful launches
What You’ll Bring
You’re an experienced food NPD professional who combinescreativity with commercial thinkingand knows how to make things happen.
You’ll have:
- Proven NPD / Product Development experience within thefood industry
- Strong product costing and commercial awareness
- Excellent project and critical path management skills
- Experience working with suppliers and packaging
- Previous team leadership or people management experience
- Strong knowledge ofUK food legislation, allergens and food safety
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
