Junior QA Assistant / Quality Assistant — Full Time | Permanent | Day-Based (37.5 hrs)

Location: Ditcheat, Somerset (near Shepton Mallet & Wincanton)

Salary: £27,000 + Excellent Benefits | 30 Days Holiday (incl. BHs)

We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior QA Assistant / Quality Assistant to join the Technical Department of a growing, award-winning, family-owned food manufacturer. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will support all aspects of the Technical function, playing an active role in developing food technology expertise while strengthening food safety and quality standards across the business. This is an excellent opportunity to grow within a progressive food manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with legal, industry, and customer standards
  • Review and maintain daily quality records
  • Conduct internal and hygiene audits and follow up on corrective actions
  • Assist with customer complaints, micro investigations, and non-conformances
  • Support product development and continuous improvement initiatives
About You / Qualifications:
  • Intermediate Food Safety in Manufacturing (desirable)
  • Internal Audit training (desirable)
  • Experience within cheese, dairy, or food manufacturing preferred
  • Strong communication, organisation, and IT skills
  • Keen to develop within a technical/quality role

Ideal candidates may have previously been a: Food Graduate, Technical Assistant, QA / QC Assistant or Quality Assistant and the role is commutable from Shepton Mallet, Yeovil, Wells, Wincanton, Bruton, Evercreech, Radstock, Frome, Paulton, Trowbridge.
