We’re hiring an Analytics Engineering Manager to drive the next phase of MANUAL’s data evolution. This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact at one of Europe’s fastest-growing health-tech startups. Working closely with stakeholders across Product, Growth, and Engineering, you’ll lead the vision, strategy, and execution of our analytics engineering function.
You’ll own our dbt and warehouse infrastructure, build scalable data models that power decisions across the business, and set the standard for high-quality data delivery.
From day one, you’ll have real autonomy and the chance to shape the future of how data is used across MANUAL. Success in this role means delivering a world-class data layer that enables fast, accurate insight generation and self-serve analytics, while mentoring a growing team of analytics engineers.
We’re looking for someone with deep expertise in analytics engineering and data modelling, but just as significantly, someone with drive, curiosity, and a bias for action. You’ll need to be hands-on, strategic, and obsessed with building systems that scale. This role sits within the Data team and reports to the Head of Data. It’s a high-impact opportunity to grow personally and professionally while building a best-in-class data function.
What you\’ll be doing
- Own and evolve our analytics engineering strategy, architecture and roadmap
- Build and maintain scalable, well-documented dbt models powering business-critical reporting
- Collaborate with stakeholders to deeply understand data needs across Growth, Product, Marketing, and Operations
- Champion best practices in data modelling, testing, version control, and documentation
- Identify and resolve data quality issues, ensuring trust in our data
- Mentor and grow a high-performing analytics engineering team
- Drive adoption of self-serve analytics by enabling stakeholders with clean, well-structured data models
What we need from you
- 8+ years’ experience in analytics engineering, data modelling, or a similar role
- Deep experience with dbt, SQL, and modern data stacks (we use BigQuery, Looker, and GitHub)
- A strong grasp of data warehouse design, ELT pipelines, and dimensional modelling (e.g. Kimball)
- Proven track record of building scalable, maintainable analytics infrastructure
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams
- A proactive mindset and a desire to take full ownership of the data layer
- Experience leading or mentoring other engineers is a plus
