We're looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to join our engineering function at Manthorpe Building Products. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of maintenance, manufacturing engineering, and CAPEX projects while playing a key role in driving operational excellence, business growth, and continuous improvement. What You'll Be Doing

As Engineering Lead you'll be responsible for leading all engineering activities across the site, ensuring our equipment, processes, and tooling operate safely, efficiently, and reliably. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing, multi-skilled engineering team.
  • Championing a strong health, safety, and compliance culture across the operation.
  • Developing and delivering preventative maintenance strategies to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Driving Lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost performance.
  • Managing CAPEX projects from concept through to successful delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborating with production, quality, and wider business functions to deliver operational improvements and support business growth.
  • Managing contractor relationships, engineering resources, maintenance systems, and spare parts to ensure smooth operations.

What We're Looking For

We're seeking a motivated engineering professional who brings both strong technical expertise and proven leadership experience. You'll ideally have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree desirable).
  • Strong experience in a manufacturing environment, including leadership or management responsibility.
  • A proven track record of delivering engineering and CAPEX projects.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance, equipment reliability, and manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • The ability to inspire, develop, and lead engineering teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • A strategic mindset with a hands-on approach to solving problems and delivering results.
