Mechanical Bias Maintenance Engineer

Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance on production machinery and site equipment.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical faults quickly and safely.
- Respond to breakdowns and get equipment back into production with minimal downtime.
- Replace and repair mechanical components, including bearings, belts, chains, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systems.
- Support electrical engineers as part of a multi‑skilled maintenance team.
- Assist with machinery installations, upgrades and continuous improvement projects.
- Work closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and performance.
- Help maintain engineering stores and ensure critical spare parts are available.
- Promote a safe working environment and follow all Health & Safety procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve machinery, reduce waste and increase efficiency.
Qualifications
- Experienced in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Skilled at fault finding and repairing mechanical equipment.
- Familiar with hydraulics, pneumatics and rotating machinery.
- Calm under pressure and able to prioritise breakdowns effectively.
- Team player who communicates well with colleagues across the business.
- Always looking for ways to improve equipment and working practices.
- Committed to working safely and maintaining high engineering standards.
- Enjoys engineering and wants to be part of a proud team.
