About the Role

Manthorpe Building Products, part of the Genuit Group, is looking for an experienced Engineering Lead to join our engineering function. In this role you will take ownership of maintenance, manufacturing engineering and CAPEX projects while driving operational excellence, business growth and continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all engineering activities across the site, ensuring equipment, processes and tooling operate safely, efficiently and reliably.
  • Build and develop a high‑performing, multi‑skilled engineering team.
  • Champion a strong health, safety and compliance culture across the operation.
  • Develop and deliver preventive maintenance strategies to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency and cost performance.
  • Manage CAPEX projects from concept through to successful delivery, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with production, quality and wider business functions to deliver operational improvements and support business growth.
  • Manage contractor relationships, engineering resources, maintenance systems and spare parts to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s degree desirable).
  • Strong experience in a manufacturing environment with leadership or management responsibility.
  • Proven track record of delivering engineering and CAPEX projects.
  • Deep knowledge of maintenance, equipment reliability and manufacturing engineering.
  • Experience applying Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Excellent project management, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to inspire, develop and lead engineering teams in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strategic mindset with a hands‑on approach to solving problems and delivering results.
