Mantell Associates are proudly partnered with a leading CDMO in their search for an Analytical Chemist to join their team.
Analytical Chemist – Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate strong understanding of technical knowledge related to early phase clinical studies, transitioning to commercial readiness for small molecules and large complex molecules.
- Plan and manage project work from early-stage clinical studies through to commercialization, ensuring deliverables are met on time, within budget, and with high-quality standards.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and maintain a clean, organized work environment, meeting regulatory and industry standards.
- Perform routine equipment calibration, ensure accurate data recording, and manage technical performance checks throughout the clinical and commercial stages.
- Communicate project status, progress, and any scope changes clearly with internal teams and line managers; actively participate in team meetings.
- Foster a positive, inclusive work environment by adhering to equality, dignity, and anti-harassment policies; act as a role model for collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement in the clinical to commercial transition and propose solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and GMP standards, report incidents or deviations, and mentor less experienced staff through the clinical and commercial phases.
Analytical Chemist – Requirements:
- 5 GCSE (or equivalent) passes, grades A-C, including Mathematics and English Language
- Degree level qualification in an Analytical/Chemistry related discipline or equivalent experience
- Higher Level Qualification in relevant discipline, including significant industry experience, may be considered in Lieu of Degree Qualification
- Theoretical knowledge of multiple laboratory techniques
- Relevant Laboratory experience
- Basic level ability in the use of Microsoft Packages (Word, Excel etc)
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Ability to apply attention to detail to tasks undertaken
- Ability to organise and plan work both independently and in conjunction with team members
- Previous relevant industrial experience in a GMP/GLP environment
