Can you turn complex subsurface uncertainty into exploration opportunity? Do you have hands-on experience with Petroleum Systems Modeling (PSM), basin modeling, and prospect risking within offshore exploration environments? We are looking for a Senior Petroleum Systems Modeling Consultant (Onsite) to provide advanced technical expertise in Petroleum Systems Modeling (PSM), basin analysis, and subsurface de-risking to support offshore exploration and appraisal activities in a frontier offshore basin.
Tasks & responsibilities:
- Lead and execute Petroleum Systems Modeling (PSM) and basin modeling studies for offshore exploration projects.
- Build, interpret, and validate petroleum system models using Petromod and related geoscience tools.
- Perform play-based exploration studies, lead and prospect evaluations, including:
- Risk & uncertainty assessments
- Volumetric/resource calculations
- Prospect maturation activities
- Conduct:
- Stratigraphic analyses
- Sedimentological studies
- Depositional environment interpretation
- Post-well analyses
- Ensure quality assurance of:
- Basin models
- Petroleum system models
- Play & prospect portfolios
- Integrate geological, geophysical, and subsurface data into clear technical recommendations and exploration insights.
- Support technical workshops, peer reviews, peer assists, and basin promotion activities.
- Translate complex geological information into understandable insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary offshore exploration teams across multiple E&P phases.
- Coach and mentor geoscientists while contributing to technical development and knowledge sharing.
Requirements:
- MSc degree in Geoscience or a related discipline.
- At least 10 years of experience within petroleum exploration and/or E&P environments.
- Mandatory hands-on experience with:
- Petroleum Systems Modeling (PSM)
- Basin modeling
- Play-based exploration workflows
- Prospect evaluation & risking
- Strong expertise in:
- Risk & uncertainty analysis
- Volumetric/resource estimation
- Subsurface interpretation
- Proven experience with:

- Paleoscan
- GeoXGis
- Paxor
- similar geoscience software
- Broad subsurface experience across multiple stages of the Exploration & Production lifecycle.
- Strong understanding of:
- Petroleum geochemistry
- Stratigraphy

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to translate complex technical data into strategic insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
