Responsible for staff training, health and safety, and food safety. Ensuring optimum efficiency of the assigned line and that grading and packing is at the lowest unit cost possible whilst achieving optimum utilization of fruit. Ensuring product is within customer specification including quality, packaging, compliance, and legality.
Key Responsibilities
- To perform start up checks
- Print production plan from planning department email and ensure all areas have copies
- Check all members of staff working on the grader for compliance
- Ensure the Grader area is kept clean and tidy at all times
- To check the fork lift driver is picking the correct fruit for the job
- Prepare Grading jobs on the system ensuring all parameters are correct to the grading plan
- Check all outlets to ensure quality and sizing is correct and meets customer specifications
- Engage with QA throughout the fruit grading to maintain standards and adjust settings if required
- Ensure all staff are following their processes
- Compile Grade out report at the end of each job showing defect and waste levels
- Send end of day email to show everything that has been graded that day including back to tank and back to crates and the estimated profit made that day
- To run the Magic Eye on all graders a minimum of once a week and store the results in the required location
- Ensure any damage to the grader or surrounding area is reported to the Grader Team Manager and to the maintenance team for repair/replacement
