A lovely Small / Medium Size Housing Charity located in Fulham / Chelsea is seeking a Part-time Head of HR / HR Manager for an immediate start. The role is 3 days per week, with normal hours from 9am to 5pm, although adjustments can be made if needed for childcare.

Salary: £55k - £60k is on offer. This is initially a temporary/FTC role as they need someone on board ASAP. They are open to keeping the temporary person long term if they like it.

Experience needed:

  • The successful candidate must have experience in Housing, charity, or non-profit sectors.
  • You should have either been in a full stand-alone HR role where you owned everything yourself or managed a small team.
  • A minimum of level 5-7 CIPD is required, but similar experience from Housing or charity will also be considered.

This role reports to the Operations Director and has full autonomy over the HR function. You will manage one assistant who handles day-to-day tasks and need to be confident in owning the entire HR process, improving internal processes, and aligning stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the HR function and ensure that the team has appropriate HR policies and procedures, acting within best practice and legal scope.
  • Take ownership of the recruitment process, liaising with line managers to arrange interviews, offer letters, contracts, and references (supported by the assistant).
  • Provide “Business Partner” support to managers to manage issues of conduct or capability, including formal disciplinary investigations/action, and resolve grievance issues in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate pay for new or changed jobs in line with the organisation’s policy on pay.
  • Periodically review and revise the organisation’s approach to pay and benefits.
  • Provide a comprehensive induction to all new managers in the organisation’s HR and management practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date records (manual and computerised) relating to all areas of HR and consultancy activity; extract information and provide regular and ad hoc statistics and reports upon request from managers and the executive.
  • Keep up to date with equal opportunities and diversity best practices and ensure that the company applies this wherever practicable across its services.
