Housing First roles are incredibly impactful—supporting people to maintain stable housing after rough sleeping can genuinely transform lives. This role is based on the Housing First principles for England developed by Homeless Link, which place individuals directly into permanent housing and provide flexible, person-centred support to help them maintain their tenancy and achieve their personal goals.

- Support tenants to sustain their social housing tenancies and develop independent living skills.
- Build trusting, long-term relationships with clients using a strengths-based approach.
- Work flexibly and proactively, delivering support in people’s homes and in the community.
- Assist clients to access services including healthcare, mental health, substance misuse support, employment, and benefits advice.
- Advocate on behalf of clients and work collaboratively with housing providers, local authorities and partner agencies.
- Daily maintenance of accurate records, support plans and risk assessments.
- Participate in multi-agency meetings and adhere to MDC safeguarding processes.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is passionate about supporting people who have experienced homelessness.
- Understands the challenges faced by individuals with multiple and complex needs.
- Is tenacious, resilient, accountable and thinks creatively.
- Has experience providing support, casework, or tenancy sustainment services.
- Can work flexibly, independently, and as part of a team.
- Has strong communication, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
- Is committed to person-centred and trauma-informed practice.
- Knowledge or experience of the Housing First model or working with people who have experienced rough sleeping would be highly beneficial.
