An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, compassionate and empathetic candidate to join the Housing Income Team in the important role of Housing Income Officer. We are dedicated to ensuring a high level of income collection while collecting with care. You will be supporting customers in ensuring they have all benefits in place, including universal credit housing costs, housing benefits, council tax reduction, enabling access to household support funds, and referrals for specialist support where a need is identified.
Responsibilities:
- Primarily ensure rent is collected and enforce breach of tenancy conditions for non‑payment of rent.
- Support customers through the recovery process, offering all possible support during the recovery period.
- Work collaboratively within the team to provide the best service possible to our customers.
Qualifications:
- Experience in income recovery or a related field.
- Existing knowledge of welfare benefits and the ability to provide budgeting advice (training will be provided).
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Hardworking with an eye for detail and a genuine passion for teamwork.
