My client is seeking an experienced Toolmaker to join their precision engineering team. This role involves the manufacture, maintenance, repair, and modification of injection mould tooling to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed in line with customer requirements and deadlines. You will play a key role within the toolroom, applying a broad range of mechanical and precision engineering skills to support tooling performance and production efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Stripping down and reassembling injection mould tools in a methodical manner
- Assessing tooling and components to determine the most effective repair or modification approach
- Carrying out repairs, maintenance, and improvements to injection mould tooling
- Reverse engineering components and documenting specifications where required
- Working closely with the Toolroom Manager to plan and prioritise workload
- Maximising machine utilisation and ensuring efficient use of equipment
- Maintaining high standards of quality and workmanship at all times
- Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures
- Communicating effectively within the team and maintaining a professional approach
The Candidate
- Completed a toolmaking apprenticeship or holds a relevant mechanical engineering qualification (or equivalent experience)
- Proven experience repairing and maintaining injection mould tooling
