The Role
This is a varied role in which you will be involved in all stages of the manufacturing process, from machining / modifying components through to assembly, and finally inspection of finished instruments.
Responsibilities
- Machining components to tight tolerances.
- Inspecting components made externally.
- Assembling optical systems and mechanical assemblies.
- Ensuring finished instruments conform to specifications.
- Evaluating instruments returned for repair.
- Completing and filing the necessary paperwork.
The Candidate
- Experience using manual lathes and milling machines is essential
Engineering qualifications
- Experience using a variety of machine and hand tools, such as : pillar drills, bench grinders, taps, and files
- Experience using measuring equipment, such as : micrometers, callipers, and height gauges
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
The Package
Offering up to £30,000 per annum plus 25 days holiday plus bank holiday and strong pension contribution.
