The Role

This is a varied role in which you will be involved in all stages of the manufacturing process, from machining / modifying components through to assembly, and finally inspection of finished instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Machining components to tight tolerances.
  • Inspecting components made externally.
  • Assembling optical systems and mechanical assemblies.
  • Ensuring finished instruments conform to specifications.
  • Evaluating instruments returned for repair.
  • Completing and filing the necessary paperwork.

The Candidate

  • Experience using manual lathes and milling machines is essential

Engineering qualifications

  • Experience using a variety of machine and hand tools, such as : pillar drills, bench grinders, taps, and files
  • Experience using measuring equipment, such as : micrometers, callipers, and height gauges
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

The Package

Offering up to £30,000 per annum plus 25 days holiday plus bank holiday and strong pension contribution.
