An opportunity has arisen for a skilled or semi-skilled CNC Miller to join a busy manufacturing workshop producing small- to medium-batch components for a diverse customer base. This role would suit an individual who enjoys hands-on machining, working to tight tolerances, and contributing to high-quality precision manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting and operating CNC milling machines, preparing tooling, loading materials, and ensuring components are produced accurately to drawing specification. There is also scope to support the development of new programs from customer drawings and files, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities- Programming CNC milling machines
- Set and operate CNC milling machines to run existing production work
- Prepare tooling and load raw materials efficiently and safely
- Inspect and measure components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and tolerances
- Carry out visual and dimensional inspection using appropriate measuring equipment
- Assist with program development and modifications where required
- Identify and resolve machining issues to minimise downtime and scrap
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop
- Work accurately to deadlines while maintaining quality standards
- A form of programming experience
- Heidenhain controls experience
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
