Responsibilities

  1. Prioritise tasks and ensure deadlines for packing and dispatch are met.
  2. Complete and verify all required paperwork.
  3. Contribute to the development of logistical processes and procedures to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
  4. Process shipment requests in line with agreed turnaround times.
  5. Ensure full compliance with customs and HMRC regulations, including commodity codes, customs procedure codes, export control licences, and incoterms.
  6. Accurately process shipment requests through SAP and manually via the SRF (Shipping Request Process).
  7. Create Customs Clearance Instructions on SAP in response to courier requests.
  8. Ensure freight forwarder compliance on Single Administrative Document (C88/SAD) completion.
  9. Track shipments and update SAP with Airway Bill details.
  10. Complete Dangerous Goods Declarations when applicable.
  11. Provide additional support to the Shipping Coordinator team.

The Candidate

  • Proven experience in a similar shipping role.
  • Experience handling export controlled goods.
  • Experience arranging logistics for finished goods.
  • Familiarity with ISO9001 standard processes.
  • Ability to prioritise workload and work independently.
  • Capable of preparing dispatch data promptly to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to follow company processes and suggest improvements where applicable.
  • Previous experience with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Dynamics, Oracle, or Epicor.
