An established engineering and manufacturing business is seeking an experienced QHSE Manager to lead Quality, Health & Safety and Environmental processes within a fast-paced production environment. This is a hands-on role focused on maintaining compliance, driving continuous improvement and embedding a strong QHSE culture across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and continually improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001 standards
- Lead internal audits, corrective actions and management reviews
- Investigate non-conformances, customer complaints and warranty issues
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives using root cause analysis techniques such as 5 Whys, Fishbone and FMEA
- Monitor quality metrics including defects, rework and returns
- Develop and maintain Health & Safety procedures in line with UK legislation
- Conduct risk assessments and oversee safe systems of work within a manufacturing environment
- Lead accident and incident investigations, including RIDDOR reporting where required
- Support Environmental Management processes aligned to ISO 14001
- Monitor environmental performance including waste, emissions and energy usage
- Produce QHSE reports and ensure documentation and compliance records are maintained
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous QHSE management experience within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and Health & Safety compliance
- Experience managing in-house quality procedures and audit processes
- Ability to carry out root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions
- Excellent communication, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Hands-on approach with the ability to influence teams across production and engineering
Desirable
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
- ISO 9001 / ISO 14001 Lead Auditor qualification
- Knowledge of refrigeration or F-Gas regulations
- Lean or Six Sigma experience
- Ability to read technical drawings and schematics
