The Role
The key responsibilities will be:
Engineering R&D. Including measuring, recording, analysing and reporting experiments on the performance of prototype systems
To run and maintain in an organised, efficient environment a purpose built engineering laboratory for experimental development of new and existing products
To develop and setup a new production line once prototypes move into production
Become familiar with assembly, installation, control and troubleshooting of existing products
Support engineering design team with assembly, testing and problem solving the development of new products
Use and maintenance of research lab and equipment – including associated software
Accurately carry out varied experiments to assess technical performance and reliability of current and developmental systems.
Record details of experiments in an online laboratory notebook and maintenance thereof
Use Excel to record, process and analyse experimental data
Report findings in written documents to be shared with management and customers
Occasional site visits and foreign travel may be required
The Candidate
Degree in an engineering discipline – essential
Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word – essential
Previous employment in a similar role – essential
Required Skills and Experience
Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word. Being able to use AutoCAD products would be advantageous
Ability to analyse measured results and present sound, well-reasoned reports to communicate with others
Problem solving and innovation skills
Self-motivated, effective, enthusiastic & organised team member
Previous Experience in the following technical areas would be an advantage:
o Electrical/mechanical assembly
o Understanding of engineering standards
o General manufacturing principles
o Basic Health and Safety awareness
The Package
The minimum salary offered for this position is £30,000 pa however, the client may pay up to £40,000 pa to a candidate that can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
