Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Overview

My client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction of new and existing products from concept through to full-scale production. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering robust, efficient manufacturing solutions using lean principles in a high-precision engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development from design through production

Create detailed manufacturing documentation, setup packs, SOPs and tooling logs

Generate offline CNC programs for milling and turning (3-, 4- and 5-axis)

Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and machine prove-out activities

Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction and process optimisation

Contribute to quality activities including PFMEA and non-conformance resolution

Design and specify tooling and fixtures to enhance machining capability

Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers

Key Requirements

HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)

Strong CNC machining background with online and offline programming

Proven experience with 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling and turning

Solid understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards

Experience with APQP, PFMEA and NPI projects

Competent in CAD/CAM systems; ability to adapt to different platforms

Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, inspection techniques and a range of metals
