The Role
You will be responsible for the precise assembly of mechanical parts, products, and special-purpose machines using a variety of tools and equipment. Working from production orders, assembly drawings, and technical specifications, you will ensure high-quality manufacturing to meet customer requirements.
Key Duties:
Assemble and build special-purpose machines, mechanical and pneumatic grips, and other precise instruments, including fitting wiring looms and electronic displays.
Operate pillar drills, manual lathes, and other toolroom equipment with competence.
Complete all required paperwork and documentation, including timesheets and work orders.
Maintain and organise tooling, ensuring it remains in good working order.
Assist with the annual stock count.
Keep workstations and surrounding areas clean and tidy.
Collaborate with department managers and team members, communicating professionally and assisting colleagues as needed.
Ensure production targets are met or exceeded, as set by the departmental supervisor.
Report completed work or any issues to the departmental supervisor.
Ensure all parts are collated, fitted, and adapted as needed before testing.
Identify and report any necessary drawing changes to maintain accurate records.
Undertake additional duties as reasonably required.
The Candidate
At least 1 year of mechanical fitting experience.
Ideally holds an engineering qualification.
Proficient in using reamers, taps, and other relevant tools.
Ability to read and work from engineering drawings and instructions.
Skilled in using manual machines and hand tools.
Strong attention to detail with knowledge of measuring equipment.
Must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
The Package
The salary offered for this position is £25,000 up to £30,000 to a candidate that can meet all key qualifications and abilities.
