Laser Engineer – Manchester (Stockport) / Liverpool (Warrington)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Laser Engineer to join the UK’s largest service and sales support network within the Sheet Metal Industry. These are permanent, full-time roles based within the Service Department, supporting customers across the North West region.

This role offers the chance to work with market-leading laser machinery, supporting customers with installation, maintenance, and technical expertise. Flexibility around travel and working hours is essential, along with a commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.

The Role:

  • Diagnosing and resolving machine faults and breakdowns on-site
  • Conducting regular planned maintenance and servicing of laser machines and equipment
  • Providing customer training on machine operation, safety, and basic maintenance
  • Promoting tooling sales, maintenance contracts, and associated equipment
  • Representing the company with a professional and customer-focused approach

Key Requirements:

  • A suitable engineering qualification (HNC/Degree preferred, ideally with strong electrical content)
  • Previous field experience with laser machinery is desirable, though not essential
  • Alternatively, an apprentice-trained engineer with a minimum of 1 year’s hands-on experience
  • Solid understanding of electrical, electronic, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
  • Strong electrical fault-finding skills and schematic interpretation
  • PLC and mechanical experience required; Fanuc experience is a bonus
