Job Description

Overview

This is an excellent opportunity for a Field Service & Repair Engineer / Assembler will be responsible for managing the customer repairs process as well as providing on-site service work at customer sites on brakes, clutches and couplings. This includes diagnosing faults, performing scheduled maintenance, and ensuring optimal performance of the company products. They will also carry out assembly work when there is a no field service and repair work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage customer returns process to achieve annual repairs sales target and on time delivery in line with customer expectations
  • Strip and survey returned items and produce detailed report on parts and labour required with costings to repair the units if viable
  • Rebuild customer returns to “as new” standard to allocated delivery date as required.
  • Carry out service work on supplied Brakes, Clutches and Couplings at Bedford plant and remotely at customer site.
  • Support Sales and Engineering with service, commissioning and sales support work on all products sold via Bedford plant
  • Support Quality and inspection to maintain ISO9001 quality management system and achieve on time delivery of processes.
  • Assemble and test products to specification, referring to working instructions and drawings, using air gun and spanners, paying particular attention to cleanliness of parts.
  • Operate overhead travelling gantry crane and provide correct slinging procedure to load and transport large items.

The Candidate

Experience of maintaining processes and on time delivery.

Experience of mechanical / hydraulic service / maintenance engineering.

Experience working remotely on customer installations and managing own workloads

Working to engineering drawings

Experience with building assemblies

Salary

£40,000 – £45,000 per year (depending on skills and experience).
