A well-established engineering and manufacturing business is looking to recruit a Stores Assistant to join its busy operations team. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and reliable individual with stores or warehouse experience to play a key role in supporting production through the efficient receipt, storage and distribution of materials.
The Role
As a Stores Assistant, you will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day operation of the stores function, ensuring materials are received, stored and issued accurately while maintaining stock integrity. You will also provide cover for the Stores Supervisor during periods of annual leave or absence. Working closely with production, purchasing and other departments, you will help ensure materials are available when required and that all stock movements are accurately recorded.
Key Responsibilities
- Issue consumables and tools from stores, accurately recording all stock transactions.
- Receive and check incoming deliveries against purchase orders, reporting any discrepancies or quality concerns.
- Match delivery notes with purchase orders and liaise with the purchasing team.
- Pick and prepare materials for production using issued pick lists.
- Pack and prepare goods for dispatch, ensuring items are protected during transit.
- Assist with maintaining accurate stock levels and inventory records.
