Director of Operations
The Company
A leading bio-tech manufacturing company are you looking for a Director of Operations to join their team.
The Role
This role will require experienced candidates. My client is looking for a Director of Operations to lead, professionalise, and scale their operations as they grows. You will build on the foundations already in place, own the operational strategy, and ensure operational excellence across all company functions, including lab operations, facilities, compliance, IT, and supplier management.
The work will include the following:
Own and deliver the overall operational strategy, ensuring the company's infrastructure can scale effectively.
Build, manage, and grow the operations team as the company expands
Oversee lab and facilities operations, ensuring safety, compliance, and optimal performance
Negotiate and manage high-value contracts and commercial agreements
Lead risk management, including compliance frameworks, HSE, and regulatory standards
Support financial planning and budgeting for operational areas
Develop and continuously improve operational processes across HR, legal, supplier management, IT, lab, and facilities
The Candidate
To apply for this role, you must
1. 5 to 10 years of progressive experience in operations leadership roles, ideally within biotech, life sciences, or engineering
2. Experience in a scaling start-up environment
3. Strong track record of developing and scaling operational processes
4. Experience managing complex lab or facilities operations
5. Strong financial awareness, including operational budgeting and resource planning
Familiarity with ISO standards, laboratory safety certifications, or quality management systems would be highly beneficial.
