A leading manufacturing business is looking for an experienced Maintenance Team Leader to take responsibility for the planning, coordination and delivery of maintenance activities across its site. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced maintenance professional with previous supervisory or team leadership experience to take ownership of a small maintenance function and drive improvements in equipment reliability, downtime and performance.
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and manage a team of three Maintenance Technicians.
- Plan and prioritise preventative maintenance, breakdown response and improvement projects.
- Own and manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) programme.
- Coordinate effective responses to machinery and equipment breakdowns.
- Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Manage maintenance spares and consumables.
- Set objectives, conduct appraisals and support the development of team members.
- Manage performance, attendance and conduct where required.
- Work closely with Production, Engineering, Facilities and Senior Management.
- Monitor maintenance KPIs including downtime, breakdown trends, response times and repeat failures.
- Drive continuous improvement across maintenance processes.
- Promote high standards of Health & Safety and operational compliance.
- Support adherence to ISO and quality requirements.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Significant maintenance/engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Previous experience as a Maintenance Team Leader, Supervisor or similar.
- Strong people management and leadership skills.
- Experience with appraisals, performance management and team development.
- Excellent fault-finding and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word and Teams.
- A strong understanding of Health & Safety and operational compliance.
