The Role

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced CNC Machinist to join their machine shop.

This is a hands-on role involving the programming, setting and operation of CNC machine tools, manufacturing precision components to engineering drawings within a low-volume, high-quality production environment.

This will be on a double day shift pattern.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set and operate CNC milling or turning machines.
  • Manufacture precision components to engineering drawings and tight tolerances.
  • Produce low-volume, high-quality machined parts.
  • Manufacture and modify jigs, fixtures and tooling.
  • Carry out first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Record production activity using the company's ERP system.
  • Work to production schedules and agreed machining times.
  • Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain high standards of quality, housekeeping and health & safety.
  • The Candidate
  • Previous experience programming, setting and operating CNC milling or turning machines.
  • A strong precision engineering background.
  • Experience working to tight tolerances from engineering drawings.
  • Good knowledge of inspection techniques using measuring equipment.
  • A proactive attitude with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience within low-volume, high-precision manufacturing.
