Overview
My client is seeking an experienced Senior Manufacturing Engineer to support the introduction of new and existing products from concept through to full-scale production. This is a hands-on role focused on delivering robust, efficient manufacturing solutions using lean principles in a high-precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end manufacturing process development from design through production
- Create detailed manufacturing documentation, setup packs, SOPs and tooling logs
- Generate offline CNC programs for milling and turning (3-, 4- and 5-axis)
- Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and machine prove-out activities
- Drive continuous improvement, waste reduction and process optimisation
- Contribute to quality activities including PFMEA and non-conformance resolution
- Design and specify tooling and fixtures to enhance machining capability
- Lead technical discussions with customers and suppliers
Key Requirements
- HNC or higher in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
- Strong CNC machining background with online and offline programming
- Proven experience with 3-, 4- and 5-axis milling and turning
- Solid understanding of ISO9001 and AS9100 standards
- Experience with APQP, PFMEA and NPI projects
- Competent in CAD/CAM systems; ability to adapt to different platforms
- Knowledge of tooling, fixturing, inspection techniques and a range of metals
