In this role you will be responsible for all aspects of product design from feasibility to production, however, it is focused on developing and testing our firmware, with the ideal candidate having strong experience with validating and verifying firmware against customer requirements. You will shape the teams' design and testing processes, and work with other departments to ensure that all firmware development is high quality with high-quality evidence. The role requires some knowledge of digital and analogue electronics.

The Candidate

  • In-depth C/C++ experience in real-time embedded systems, including design for multi-threading, complex debugging techniques and common communication protocols
  • Experience in testing firmware for low to medium-volume production, including unit and system-level testing planning and execution
  • Involvement in / management of code quality processes, including code reviews, version control and formal release processes
  • Experience and knowledge of schematic capture, PCB design and layout
  • Ability to analyse hardware/firmware interaction faults
  • Ability to write good technical documentation
  • Some experience in mechanical design would be advantageous
