As Quality Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring products and processes meet regulatory and customer standards. You’ll support daily operations within the Quality Assurance team, oversee approval of materials and components, manage customer feedback, and contribute to the maintenance of quality systems and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of the QA department, including resolving product quality issues and allocating team resources effectively.
- Maintain and improve internal quality processes and ensure continued compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
- Perform visual and dimensional checks on new and modified products, using a range of precision instruments.
- Conduct colour analysis and support external product inspection requests where necessary.
- Oversee calibration of gauges and measurement tools, ensuring records are up to date and compliant.
- Maintain documentation associated with quality systems, including the control of Quality Records.
- Investigate customer complaints and returns, carry out root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions with relevant teams.
- Collaborate with the Sales and Logistics departments on replacement orders and ensure accurate reporting through RMA systems.
- Conduct inspections on inbound goods requiring quality verification.
The Candidate
- Previous experience in a quality-focused engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of measurement tools and techniques.
- The ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply quality tools effectively.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards and internal auditing.
- Experience supporting or leading continuous improvement initiatives.
- A working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Exposure to machining processes; knowledge of polymers is advantageous but not essential.
The Package
Salary: £35,000 - £44,000 (dependent on experience and qualifications). We operate as an Employment Agency for permanent roles and as an Employment Business for temporary or contract opportunities.
