Overview
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a technical background who is either looking to expand an existing career in technical sales or move into this field. The role would suit a candidate with experience in technical sales, ideally with exposure to CNC machinery or similar, and a genuine interest in supporting projects from enquiry through to delivery. The position is field-based with regular customer visits across the UK, particularly focused on the Midlands and South East. Full training will be provided, including opportunities for development both in-house and with suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Manage incoming enquiries while also identifying and developing new business opportunities.
- Demonstrate machinery capabilities using technical expertise.
- Visit customer sites across the UK to build and maintain relationships.
- Follow up on sales leads and manage projects from enquiry to completion.
- Support machinery installations and provide customer training.
- Deliver aftersales support via phone and email to strengthen customer relationships.
- Represent the company at UK exhibitions and occasional international training sessions.
- Collaborate with a small, close-knit team to share ideas and drive success.
The Candidate
- Experienced technical sales engineer.
- Ideally has experience selling machinery (not essential).
- Holds a mechanical-biased engineering qualification.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle.
- Proficient IT skills, ideally with CRM or similar systems.
- Self-motivated, target-driven, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communicator with excellent interpersonal skills, comfortable working with customers across a variety of industries.
Salary
Β£35,000 β Β£45,000 per year, plus commission and benefits (depending on skills and experience).
Please note: this role does not come with a company car or allowance. Candidates must use their own vehicle, with all mileage and expenses fully covered.
