My client is seeking a Technical Sales Support Engineer with an electrical engineering background to join their team in Milton Keynes. This is an office-based position supporting both customers and the external sales team with technical enquiries, product applications, and engineering solutions. The role would suit someone with a strong electrical engineering background who enjoys problem-solving, technical support, and working closely with both customers and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support to customers via telephone and email
- Assist with product selection, application support, and technical enquiries
- Investigate and report on returned products, identifying faults and potential improvements
- Support the introduction and development of new products and solutions
- Conduct market and competitor analysis to support business growth
- Work closely with the sales team to provide technical guidance and application support
- Deliver product training to both customers and internal colleagues
- Support product lifecycle activities, including new product launches and product updates
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and supporting information where required
- Manage multiple projects and priorities while meeting deadlines
The Candidate:
- Degree, HNC or HND qualified in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience within an engineering, technical support, applications, or customer-facing engineering role
- Strong electrical engineering knowledge with good fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience working with automation systems, PLCs, drives, control systems, or similar technologies would be advantageous
- Able to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Confidently supporting customers via telephone, email, and face-to-face discussions
- Methodical problem solver with strong organisational skills
- Experience producing technical reports and maintaining accurate records
- Able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Strong interpersonal skills with a proactive and customer-focused approach
