My client is a well-established engineering manufacturer looking to recruit an experienced Welder to join their production team. Working within a precision engineering environment, you will be responsible for welding a variety of fabricated components and sub-assemblies to engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards. This is a hands-on role requiring a high level of workmanship and attention to detail, supporting the manufacture of complex engineered products. This is a double day shift position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out welding activities in accordance with engineering drawings, welding procedures and customer specifications.
  • Prepare materials, components, and weld surfaces prior to fabrication.
  • Set up, inspect, and maintain welding equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Weld carbon steel and stainless-steel components using a variety of welding processes.
  • Work to coded welding procedures and maintain consistently high-quality workmanship.
  • Inspect completed welds to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  • Record work completed using the company's ERP system.
  • Meet production schedules while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Support continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing initiatives.

Candidate

  • Time-served apprenticeship or recognised qualification in Welding, Fabrication or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a coded welder within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
  • Experience working to recognised welding standards.
  • Strong experience with the following welding processes:
    • TIG (GTAW)
    • MMA / Stick Welding (SMAW)
    • MAG / MIG Welding (GMAW)
  • Experience welding carbon steel and stainless steel across a variety of material thicknesses.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work.
  • Excellent understanding of Health & Safety within a manufacturing environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with brazing techniques, including torch or induction brazing.
  • Previous experience within heavy engineering, rotating equipment or industrial manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems for recording production activities.
