My client is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join a busy engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with strong design, mechanical, and commercial awareness to contribute to precision-engineered, bespoke electromechanical assemblies.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed 2D and 3D designs for bespoke and standard machinery, ensuring accuracy and manufacturability.
- Manage updates and revisions to existing designs, ensuring changes are recorded and implemented efficiently.
- Collaborate with project teams to develop innovative mechanical and electromechanical solutions.
- Prepare and maintain Bills of Materials and technical documentation in design and ERP systems.
- Ensure all project files, drawings, and specifications are complete, organised, and available for cross-departmental use.
- Support the wider engineering team with ad-hoc tasks and projects as required.
The Candidate
- Holds a recognised engineering qualification.
- Proven ability to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models using professional CAD software.
- Skilled in developing practical, cost-effective designs that meet project requirements.
- Experience working on complex assemblies.
- Exposure to machinery design and build.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical tolerances, fits, and quality standards.
