My client is seeking an experienced CNC Setter / Operator to safely set and operate CNC machinery in line with internal quality and safety standards. The role involves machining metal components, carrying out detailed quality checks and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives. This is a morning shift position.
- Safe operation of CNC machinery
- Loading and unloading raw materials and machined components
- Completing detailed quality inspections against dimensional drawings using Hexagon measuring equipment, verniers, micrometers and gauges
- Adhering to Health & Safety requirements, including PPE, SOP compliance, assisting with risk assessments and highlighting potential hazards
- Ensuring compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental standards
- Machine setting including:
- Selection and pre-machining of workholding jaws and vices
- Selecting appropriate programs from the machine memory
- Setting machines to first-off stage and making program amendments using CAP’s where required
An engineering-based qualification in machining, manufacturing or a related discipline would be advantageous. At least two years of hands-on experience working within a CNC or precision machining environment. Confident setting and operating CNC machining centres and lathes independently.
£30,000 - £40,000 depending on skills and experience.
