My client is looking for an experienced CNC Setter to take ownership of a busy CNC Cell within a growing manufacturing environment. You’ll play a key role in maintaining smooth production flow, driving efficiency, and ensuring high-quality output across all machining operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Set and operate CNC machines within your assigned Cell to achieve production targets.
- Take ownership of Cell performance, ensuring utilisation and efficiency goals are met.
- Complete traveller documentation and maintain accurate production records.
- Coordinate machine maintenance and report any issues promptly.
- Work closely with Production Engineering to resolve drawing or process queries.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to optimise machining processes.
- Conduct first-off inspections and quality checks on components.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and well-organised work environment.
- Provide effective handovers between shifts.
- Mentor apprentices or new team members within the Machine Shop.
- Collaborate with the Production Team Leader and Manager on production schedules and priorities.
- Minimise scrap and downtime through proactive problem-solving.
About You
- Proven background in CNC setting, on lathes.
- Experience with Mazak machines would be highly advantageous.
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
- Confident conducting quality checks and working to tight tolerances.
- Positive, proactive approach to teamwork and continuous improvement.
- Comfortable working night shifts.
