My client is currently seeking a Mechanical Workshop Technician to join a busy production and workshop environment. This role would suit an experienced, hands-on engineer with strong mechanical knowledge of engines and a background in workshop or production-based roles. The position involves building, repairing, and overhauling engines and products to defined quality standards while maintaining a safe and efficient working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and assemble engines and products in line with build instructions and quality standards
- Carry out repairs and overhauls of customer products as required
- Accurately record working hours using time and attendance systems
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas to a high standard of cleanliness and organisation
- Follow all health & safety procedures and safe working practices
- Support continuous improvement in build standards, systems, and workshop efficiency
- Drive company vehicles when required to collect or deliver parts and equipment
- Assist with additional workshop and production tasks as needed
The Candidate
- Holds a recognised engineering qualification
- Experience in a workshop or production environment
- Practical working knowledge of engines
- Strong understanding of health & safety in a workshop setting
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
- A counterbalance forklift licence would be desirable
Salary
£28,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
