We are looking for a talented and passionate Prep Chef to join our busy restaurant kitchen. This is a family-friendly role with hours from 8 AM to 4 PM – no late nights and no split shifts. The ideal candidate will have experience in food preparation, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of hygiene and quality. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is eager to support the culinary team in delivering outstanding dishes.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients and assist in cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Support the kitchen team in daily food production and ensure efficient workflow.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation at all times.
• Follow food safety regulations and hygiene standards meticulously.
• Assist with stock management, including receiving deliveries, labelling, and rotation of ingredients.
• Contribute ideas and collaborate with chefs to enhance menu items and presentation.
• Help monitor portion control and minimise food waste.
• Support a positive team environment and assist colleagues as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

• Proven experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment, preferably in food preparation.
• Good knowledge of food hygiene, kitchen safety, and basic cooking techniques.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• A passion for cooking and an eagerness to learn from senior chefs.
• Basic knife skills and familiarity with common kitchen equipment.
• Flexibility and reliability in a busy kitchen setting.
