About the role
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Project Manager to join a leading organisation within the Oil and Gas sector. You will play a key role in delivering bespoke engineering solutions across a range of high-value, technically complex projects. This position focuses on Custody Transfer and Metering systems – ensuring highly accurate measurement of oil products across applications including pipelines, offshore installations, and terminal facilities. Given the financial significance of accurate measurement, this is a role that carries real commercial impact. This is a hybrid role, with an expectation of 3–5 days per week onsite, based in either Malton (near York) or Tunbridge Wells.
What you’ll be doing:
- Taking full commercial responsibility and accountability for assigned projects.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for customers, managing relationships and expectations.
- Planning, scheduling, and delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Leading and motivating project teams (typically 5–7 people) to achieve key deliverables.
- Managing project risks, forecasts, and resource requirements.
- Monitoring project milestones including procurement, design phases, and client approvals.
- Managing scope changes, contract variations, and commercial negotiations.
- Supporting sales teams with technical input and commercial proposals where required.
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience in a Project Manager or leadership role within the oil & gas sector.
- Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering projects, ideally involving skid-based systems.
- Strong understanding of measurement / metering systems or custody transfer solutions.
- Demonstrable experience managing project lifecycles, budgets, and customer relationships.
- Strong commercial awareness and contract management experience.
- Experience across sampling systems, LNG, pipelines, or offshore applications.
- Degree in Engineering, or HNC/HND, or equivalent relevant experience (QBE considered).
What you’ll gain:
- A permanent, full-time role within a highly specialised and growing sector.
- The opportunity to work on complex, high-value international projects.
- Exposure to cutting-edge measurement and engineering solutions.
- Career progression opportunities within a global organisation.
- A flexible hybrid working model.
If you’re a commercially astute Project Manager with strong oil & gas experience and a track record of delivering complex engineering projects, we’d love to hear from you.
